  1. Girls Varsity Golf smashed La Habra yesterday by 59 strokes to win their first league match of the season. Lindsay Shin medaled with a 1 under, 35. Hailey Hong came in with a plus 4, 40, and Isabelle Kim finished at plus 5, 41. The girls take on Cypress today at Navy Golf Course. Get that W ladies! 

 

  1. This Friday, Cross Country competes at the Woodbridge Invitational at Great Park in Irvine. Good luck to our Lancers XC! 

 

  1. Hey Lancers, Korean Culture Club will have their first general meeting today at lunch. If you'd like to know about the club and what they offer, come to room 15!

A Night in Naboo is THIS Saturday night. Tickets are still on sale so there's still time to join the over 1100 Lancers going to the dance this Saturday Night. Buy your tickets online today!

 

  1. The Homecoming FOOTBALL Game is Friday night at BP Stadium. Come out and watch the Lancer Football team have the high ground and use The Force to destroy Sonora. At halftime of the game we will crown the 2026 Homecoming Queen. Be a part of the Lancer Life...celebrate Sunny Hills and celebrate Homecoming this week! 

 

  1. If you're bringing a guest to Homecoming - the GUEST PASS is due now in Room 6. Don’t delay and risk the Guest ticket not being valid without a Guest pass, signed by the other student’s home school administrator, with a business card and their parents signature. If you have questions, come to Room 6 at break or lunch.

 

  1. "Lancers, UC Santa Cruz will be presenting in the library during lunch today! Tomorrow Northwestern University and UC Irvine will visit during lunch and after 6th period, respectively. Later this week, we'll welcome USC, and Cal State Los Angeles! Seniors, remember to always bring your student ID to college visits so you can receive priority entrance in the event of limited seating. Check your school email for the the weekly Guidance Newsletter to view the most up-to-date College Visit Calendars and check the date, time, and location to plan ahead for visits. See Ms. Corona in the College and Career Center if you have questions!"

 

  1. Seniors, this one’s for you! Don’t be the only one in the yearbook without a senior portrait! You have until November 14 to get yours taken, but don’t wait—slots fill up fast! Follow the Helios yearbook Instagram, @shhshelios, for more information on the scheduling process. Make sure you get your moment in the yearbook before it’s too late!

 

9.Good morning, everyone! As September and Suicide Prevention Awareness Month begin, the theme for the month is Every Connection Matters.

Being there for one another does not have to involve something big. Connection can mean noticing when someone seems off, making space for someone who feels left out, spending time with people who provide support, or recognizing when it may be time to reach out for help.

Staying connected—to friends, trusted adults, the school community, and the people who are available to provide support—can make a meaningful difference.

Throughout the month, resources and activities focused on connection, support, and suicide prevention will be shared and hosted on campus. Students are encouraged to participate and explore new ways to connect with those around them.

Anyone who is having a difficult time is encouraged to remember that reaching out is also a form of connection. There is no need to wait until things feel overwhelming to talk with someone. Students can connect with a trusted adult on campus, friends, or family.

This September, the school community is encouraged to be intentional about noticing, supporting, and staying connected with one another.

Sometimes, one connection is all it takes to remind someone they’re not alone.
